Now I can start to work out side, clean up the yard and water plants. This has been a hard cold winter and I’m glad to see it go .

Also I can start doing walks again. Well I’m glad to have my standard Florida weather starting to come back again.

Next to that sticker was another one saying “Proud Democrat”. I’m sorry but I couldn’t possible have that on my car even when I consider my self a democrat. I know a lot of people that consider them selves Conservatives and are one of the more caring people out there. I also know my fair share of Liberals that are the same way.

But would have to say this person that had this sticker was not the understanding or caring type. I could be wrong about that. But I doubt it to have a general statement “Conservative treat people like dogs” is generalizing everyone that is a Conservative . I have no use for people that generalize a group of people.

I guess it takes all types of people…………

Everyone has an opinion on the subject of exercising and the health benefits of it. I tend to think if you stay away from processed carbs and food you should be able to keep your weight down. Then exercising shouldn’t be BIG part of your life. My husband and I eat about 80% organic foods. We can’t eat organic foods all the time, one being when we eat out or at friends and family. When are at home we eat ALL organic meats (no hormones or pesticides) and when we can we get grass feed beef.

As for the exercising, I have gone back to doing walks, set ups, & push ups. I don’t think you need to spend 3-4 hours a week exercising. But doing some muscle building can help make the muscles stronger. This year I want to try to get down to about 120. I know I have been working on this for a while now. I’m starting to get to my walks and starting back to eating healthy again. I still need to cut back on eating some sweets and of course my coke habit. We have a few trips planned this year, so hopefully that will help my well power.

I think exercising can be help full, but you don’t need to kill your self doing it either.

Well we had to go down to Lakeland for a family get together. Ken and I decided we would fly down there. I was going to fly both legs. But ended up only taking the return leg. We put the airplane on a battery charger to make sure it was charging over night. Being it was getting down to the low 20’s. This isn’t normal for Florida. We don’t have the hangar heated. So just to make sure the plane would start we put it on a trickle charge.

We got up in the morning and I was looking at the weather. It was a clear day but the winds would peak around noon and with the possibility for a hard start. Ken and I decided he should fly down. I preflighted the airplane and filled it up with gas. That was a cold fill up. It was probably about 25 degrees then. Ken then pulled the airplane out of the hangar. We closed everything up in the house and got in the airplane. It started just fine, but ran a little rough for a while. But as the engine warmed up it started to smooth out. We let it “cook” for 5 minutes before taking off. We normally only wait 3 before taking off. But wanted to give it a few more minutes because of the cold.

We took of and it was a bit bumpy on the trip down. But not a bad ride. It took us about 26 minutes to get to Lakeland. It probably would have been a 2 hour drive down. It’s funny when I fly in to Lakeland (LAL) I think of when Sun N Fun is going on. That this airport has a BIG make over when Sun N Fun is going on. It’s like night and day.

We landed and parked the airplane right by the FBO. Not to many people where flying that day. Probably because it was to cold…. Anyways we went to our family get together and stayed there until around 4pm and headed back to the airport. I was the one going to be flying back. It has been a while since I have started the airplane in cold weather. It had only gotten up to around 40 by then, if that. We got the airplane started and I called tower and got my taxi instructions and took off from 27. For me taking off from 27 is a little more confusing. Plus its been a while since I have flown in to or out of LAL. But now it has all come back to me. I was cleared to take off on 27 with a north turn out. So we headed home.

The ride home was much smoother then going down. We stayed low due to higher winds. We had a head wind coming from the north. Its a quick flight only about 30 minutes of so. We then saw our neighborhood in view. I decided to do a strait in to 36. No one else was in the pattern. The lasted time I flew was Dec. 2. So I wasn’t sure how my landing was going to be. I didn’t need to be concern because it was a nice grass strep landing. I taxi off the runway to our house. We then pulled the airplane in to the hangar.

It was a nice flight. It felt good to fly again. I need to start doing this more. Which I think this year I will increase my flying….

All I have to say is a “GOOD BYE” to 2009. We are going to make 2010 a GOOD YEAR for us and the people we care about.

Ken and I are planning to make things go great this year for our business. Just a week into the New Year and things are starting to look up for us. Business is picking up, we have a partnership in a construction company and own a engineering company. So lasted year was a bit rough for us, but we made it through. In the businesses we plan on making 2010 a good year for us.

As for personal plans this is what I want to do is as follows………..

I’m now working on a photo project where I’ll be taking a picture everyday and posting it on my web site. Click here for the pictures I have already posted. This should be a fun project although a bit of work. But it will be interesting to see all the photos at the end of the year that I posted. So keep checking back to see the latest pictures.

Also I’m the new Education person for the Ocala Camera Club. Which means I have to come with the ideals for our club! Now I really need to work and go to the board meetings. No sitting back and relaxing as much as I was. I guess getting involved doesn’t hurt.. I’m working now to come up with ideals. This should be interesting to see how well I do this. Along the with the photography I’ll will be finishing up that course I have been taking through the New York Institute of Photography. I should be done with that in a couple of months. That will be a nice win for me.

As you can see from this blog I also am a pilot. Lasted year in 2009 I flew for a total of about 11 hours… Not many at all. Ken and I did little if any “fun” flying. All the flying that was done was for business. When I could go along I would do some of the flying, but not enough. This year I have a goal of flying about 30 hours. This weekend will be my 1st flight of 2010. We will be going down to Lakeland for a family get together. I’ll probably do both legs of the trip. Also for our EAA chapter I’m going to try to get the newsletter out quicker then I have been doing. Probably in the 1st week of the meeting. Those are my goals for aviation.

We also want to start spending my time with our family. I think we do pretty good, but you can always improve that area in our lives.

One of the last things, is to have MORE fun this year. We did one cruise in 2009, but was not as relaxing as our past vacations have been. We had a lot going on at home, so the last few days of the cruise we wanted to get home. But this year I plan on that not happening. We are going to go on vacation and enjoy it the whole time. Ken has a class reunion in July in Ohio. So we may fly the plane up there and make a trip out of it. Also I would like to plan another cruise somewhere. I think a cruise is going to be our “vacation” of choice this year.

So that is what I would like to get done this year. I will see how it goes… Hopefully I’ll make all my goals and then some… Well lets get 2010 started.

We had two Christmas get togethers. One at my parents house last weekend and the other at Ken’s dad’s house. It’s always nice to get with people you care about this time of year. This year has been rough but everyone made it threw just fine. Plus I few good things did happen. One being my mother received a Kidney transplant in Feb. Which her changes of getting one was not very high. She has been doing very well since then and her health has improved. Also Malika and David got pregnant this year and will be having there second child in Feb, which will be a boy. Bryan is working on getting his CPA as I type this. Ken’s family is doing well and so is my family. Next year should be even better and more fun.
