This wasn’t really a vacation, but Ken had to do some business down in Miami for a few days. So we decided for me to go down with him. For a few reasons, one being the long drive down and just to be together at night. We stayed at Best Western down in Miami. We didn’t stay on the beach though, but were we did stay was nice. Miami is an interesting place, but in NO WAY would I ever live there.

Day 1 – Sept. 6th Sunday – Miami
We had a 5 hour drive down to Miami. We started off about 9:30am which would have gotten us to the port by 2pm. But plans do change, sometimes not for the good. We got on the Florida Turn Pike, just near Clermont another driver signaled us that we needed to stop. We did pull over and found out our back left tire was low. That’s how long we have until we step on Carnival Valor. This will be a great vacation. We don’t have anything planned in Grand Cayman or Cozumel. But will be meeting up with a lady named Myrna in Roatan. She is the niece of an Chief Engineer my dad works with. They live in Roatan. So she will be taking us around. Ken and I decided while at Sun N Fun in 2001 that we wanted to go to AirVenture. So we started to make our plans to do so.
As it our trip got closure we had gotten interest from Discovery Wings. They wanted to do a video of us traveling to Oshkosh in our Piper Cherokee. They did about a 3 minute video of us. That was really fun.
We want to do this trip again in the future. I don’t know when we will do it, but another Oshkosh trip is in the future for us. Enjoy the video.

Better late then never. Ken and I took a trip to Italy in May of 2007. Ken was finally was able to put this video together of our trip there. This was his second time there and my 1st time. We spent 12 days in Italy.
It was a nice trip. We really enjoyed it. It would be nice to go back again in the future.

That is the time to we step on board Carnival Valor in Miami. We don’t have things planned out minute by minute. But I know we will have fun and relax for our 7 days away.

I just booked a cruise for Ken and I. We are going on Carnival Valor on Sept. 6th, 2009. I booked a balcony for us. We will be going to the Western Caribbean. Which we have been to a few times. But on this cruise we have a couple of ports that are pretty new to us. Belize we have only been once and Isla Roaten we have never been. So we are looking forward to those two places.

Ken and I normally do a few vacations a year. Not always big ones, but we like to travel and make it a point to do so. I figure waiting to put traveling off to you retire is a dumb ideal. I think people need to take a break from work and day to day things. I don’t consider my life bad at all and don’t think of vacations as “to get away” from a bad job or life. I have neither a bad job or life. But its nice to have an change in environment.
